Howdy friend,
Back in September 2020, I listened to a podcast that left a lasting impact on me. It was an episode of "Pod of Jake" featuring Anthony "Pomp" Pompliano, a well-known figure in the cryptocurrency space.
In the episode, Pomp shared a powerful concept that resonated with me: "Get off zero." He was referring to investing in Bitcoin, but the idea applies to so much more.
You see, when people ask Pomp how much Bitcoin they should buy, his response is simple: "I don't know what the right exposure is for each individual person... But what I do know is 0% is the wrong answer. You can't have no exposure."
This got me thinking about email marketing. I often get asked, "How many emails should my business send?" And while there's no one-size-fits-all answer, I can confidently say that the wrong number of emails to send is zero.
Think about it:
- Zero newsletters = Zero relationship building
- Zero newsletters = Zero trust development
- Zero newsletters = Zero opportunities to stay top of mind
- Zero newsletters = Zero chance to nurture prospects into customers
The mentality is simple: Get off zero.
Just like with investing, learning a new skill, or anything else worthwhile, the key is to get started. To get off zero. Even if you're not sure of the perfect strategy or cadence, sending some emails is better than sending none at all.
I can't tell you exactly how many newsletters your business should send without understanding your specific situation. But I can tell you with absolute certainty that ZERO is the wrong answer.
Now, I get it. Figuring out what to write and actually doing it consistently can be daunting.
